I would like to instal PS in the 65 beaumont I am working on. I have all the brackets pulleys, pump and PS box but the stud on the draglink is smaller than the hole on the PS box pitman arm. Do I need to change the pitman arm or the draglink and idler arm. I cannot change the pitman arms from one box to the other because the shafts are two different sizes manual is large and PS one is small
Here is a picture of the two side by side. The manual box has a larger diameter hole than the PS box. The drag links taper stud in the car measures 13/16 at base. The PS boxs pitman arm has a part number on it.
Yes you need a power steering pitman arm. and be careful matching the linkage that you buy because the US models are not the same as the Canadian models in some cases.
