I still save stuff like that for small parts. Being a pack rat pays off but you need to have the room for it.

If its got a good number there are guys who would buy it for the core. It looks pretty bad but I used to get $100 to $150 for a good number carb, that one might get 20 bucks depending on the number.

I often find myself scrounging little clips, brackets, linkage pieces etc off old stuff I saved. When I scrap an item, I usually strip it pretty good. It's starting to pay off more and more as the supply dries up in auto wreckings. Also I only know of 2-3 guys in my area who are into old cars enough that they save little bits and pieces. 10 years ago my brother still had his auto wrecking in town and I often could just run over there and grab something, even after hours, but those days are gone.
