Cool Geoff. Since I acquired my car, I've been saving all my '64 change.

Ya I love that! Carter cut the keys as per the codes!...poetic isn't it lol..Although I didn't end up with "correct keys" I didget two sets that work. The ignition/door keys are correct aftermarket with no knockouts and the glovebox/console//trunk keys are correct GM with knockouts but they are Cadillac ones with the Caddy "V" and crest on one side.

Stompin' Tom song.
Good stuff!

I'm glad that you were able to get your codes & blanks. As an FYI the old hexagonal head keys were used beyond '66 but the guide slots were revised and a greater number of codes were used. Then for '69 they went with the square head using the 1967+ guide slots.
My '67 keys still have the punch-outs in place but I always used the spare set with the square head.

The Highwood guy is very good at what he does. I used to deal with the parts manager in Southgate Chevrolet (was in Midnapore at the time; the building is now run by AHC); She too could cut keys correct by looking at the highs and lows on the key.
Back to the Highwood guy he helped me out with a small safe I inherited; At the time I inherited it, I had cryptic opening instructions that my deceased relative wrote, that he was able to make sense of for me, during the same visit I asked if he could get me another key so that I might have two; I was told by him after an exhaustive search (probably a couple months, and apparently he reached out to several suppliers ect) that there were no blanks to be found anywhere... Diplomat brand, out of Korea iirc.

My brother used to have a 1973 Dodge Tradesman van that he started with a screwdriver in the ignition tumbler. This was back in the vanning era. Most people would not have known where the ignition tumbler was hidden due to the fur on the dash.

What i have always thought for 40 years is that the GM keys were the only key blanks that were offered by GM for GM cars. The B.and S. blanks were the after market key blanks for GM cars. I have never heard that B.and S. made blanks directly for GM. Cheers.

I've bought 2 1957 Chevy's from their original owners, and both had the Briggs & Stratton keys. One of the cars was an Oshawa built 150 sold new in Saskatchewan, the other was an Atlanta built 210 sold new in Montana. I have always heard the original keys were the Briggs & Stratton's.
Just speaking for my self personally in owning a number of 50's, 60's and 70's GM cars. I have always had GM keys with my cars and have never had a B. and S. key. With my 50's cars the keys were so worn but you could still make out the GM.

Clint, this is unrelated but i was wondering if you bought your 57 210 from Mike Zarbolis in Montana. I have been in contact with Mikes's son for a number of years now. We exchange wrecking yard pictures on occasion. It was breath taking all the amazing 55 56 57 Chevy's Mike had in his yard over the years.

No, in 1991 I bought a 57 210 from a family here in Calgary. It'd come up from Montana as it was their grandmothers car, she bough it new.
I have both sets of original keys for my 66. Both sets still have the knockouts intact with the key codes stamped on them. Both sets say "GM" on one side along with "Your Key To Greater Value" and on the other side it has the code and "Rochester Products Division." The third key that came with the car is clearly not an original but it is a Briggs And Stratton key.

I have a set of originals for my 65 CS with the knockouts still intact. Numbers are still on the knockouts.
One side says " GM your key to greater value "
Other side says " Briggs & Stratton Corporation Milwaukee Wis U.S.A "
