I was just looking at a couple pick n pulls including our local one but noticed the one in Calgary on Barlow Trail just got in a 98 Park Avenue this week. Another option. I finish my term Friday.

After a phone call with my boss this morning, it sounds like I may have 6-8 weeks of time to search for a switch in the wrecking yards!

Thanks Chris, Blue Streak does make it, DS2120 but nobody has it in Canada. Obviously it was not a troublesome part!

Bad news/good news on this one!

Bad news is, the switch doesn't do what I thought it would do. Good news is, I didn't spend 50 bucks getting one because that's what it would have cost by the time I paid shipping etc.  I ran to Winnipeg to day and went to Buck's Auto. What a miserable day, cold, windy, snow squalls to deal with but it only took 5 minutes to get it out and the girl at the counter says "You can just take it" when I went to pay! I put a fiver on the counter, thanked her heartily and told her to at least buy some donuts!

More details on the switch later when I have more time. I guess I'm still looking for a switch that will turn on the brake lights and dump the vacuum for the cruise when I step on the brake pedal.

My 66. I'm putting an aftermarket cruise kit in it, concealing it as much as I can. The servo is hidden inside the driver's side fender. I'll hide the switch down at the bottom of the dash somewhere so it's not very obvious.

I will have to look into that, thanks for the idea. I had thought of using the switch to control a relay but couldn't think of a 12 volt vacuum switch. I thought of the one for the lockup converter but that's backwards, the vacuum controls the switch, not the other way around!

Whats used on more modern clutch pedals to cut off cruise? Could you look there and use the same setup for the brake pedal? My vws and Tacoma have this shutoff.

 Man, I've looked high and low online at all makes and models. I can't find what I need. It needs to be a switch with 2 pairs of terminals plus a vacuum valve. When the vehicle is at rest, the one pair of terminals is an open circuit (brake lights), the other pair is a closed circuit (cruise control). Both circuits reverse their position when the pedal is applied, plus the vacuum valve dumps the vacuum when the pedal is applied. 

I called one of our technicians from work today. He's at home until this whole mess repairs itself. I asked him about an EGR solenoid and he thinks that will work but he said the fuel tank purge solenoid on the newer vehicles is even more compact and from what he remembers it will work the way I want. I'll have to get one of those and test it. I can power that from a relay that would work off the brake pedal switch. I already have the clutch switch done, that was easy. A brake switch from an automatic vehicle with cruise and lock up converter has exactly what I needed (pedal in normal position, vacuum holds and circuit is complete, pedal depressed, vacuum dumps, circuit is open)
