RE: 69 Parisienne Trunk Emblem

This is from the GM assembly manual for your 70. I'm not sure if it will help, but maybe. I can sell you a complete assembly manual for the car if you'd like onewink

The emblem I showed in the photo's doesn't have the black paint, but you could easily add that.

Re the stripe across the back of the car, my cars have both been painted.  I thought the stripe on my low mileage hardtop was correct, and copied it onto my convertible.   However, I learned later it wasn't correct (even thought the pencil etchings of it have been used by a few other people for their cars).   Notice how the stripes are narrower than the black outline around the "Pontiac" emblem.   That's not correct.

Here's a photo of the green/gold 2+2 I sold to Hillar before his passing, and even though it had been repainted, it still had the original stripes as they were masked off for the repaint.

Rear Right Corner1.JPG

I know it's a bit tough to see, but the rear stripe is wider on the green/gold car than on my yellow convertible.   Regarding  fender skirts, I've never seen a 70 2+2 with fender skirts.   They've all had the stainless wheel well trim, so not sure how the fender skirts would have looked.

Re stripe colors, they're all black/white/black, with the exception of the red cars, and the black cars.   Their stripes are grey/white/grey.   - let me double check that, I know it's right for the red cars, but I need to check the other color cars.

ahhh the love of the detail....that's all very useful info ,thank you, yes I am interested in the trunk emblem? On the green hardtop photo you sent, the trunk lid stripe looks correct on that one. especially how the stripe gradually narrows , ( just above bumper ends), but stripe looks grey as opposed to white ,on what I assume was not originally, a red or black car (prior to repaint) my 2+2 is dark brown would want correct matching stripe color for that color, the side of car stripe on photo looks like it is missing its over the wheel striping that would contour the wheel openings, maybe its there, but not visible from photo ,also the portion of stripe between the wheels looks a bit higher than it should , also the portion from the back wheel to back bumper, I thought had a slight lift to it, would start lower at the wheel , but gradually angle upwards til it got to bumper, however it must wind up at the very lower part of the bumper( re the GM speck sheet you sent),looks like they may have masked the trunk stripe when repainting, but not the side stripe, what do you have for side stripes on the two that you own? your GM spec sheet will help a lot for duplicating this detail .tks Paul

The green/gold hardtop, was repainted in it's original colors, and it's stripes are definately black/white/black.

The trunk stripe doesn't really narrow as it approaches the bumper, it just turns down and is cut, but appears to narrow.

The side stripes follow a body line, and yes does angle up a bit between the rear wheel opening and the rear bumper.

I'll do some digging, and find the documentation that states the correct stripe combination for the body color.  I'm pretty sure it's the red and black cars that have the grey/white/grey combination.

You've stated your car is dark brown, but also state it's like the one in the brochure.  The one in the brochure is gold.

I'll PM you with the info on the emblem.

Here's a front corner angle shot of my gold 2+2 hardtop (Aug 2016 Feature Car), it gives a good view of the side stripes:

Another FYI - the stripes were not painted on, they were a decal.

Somewhere here I have photo's of an original paint 2+2 trunk lid decal, but it'll take me a month to find it.

And those stripes were not applied as the body came down the line. After being assembled, the 2+2's or others apparently went across Park road to a trim facility for completion.
