348/409 Pontiacs, Novas, Acadian, Impala, SS396 Chevelle.....OH MY!!!

Hey all,

been on before. New name, new attitude. Not gonna let not so kosher people get under my skin this time and post not so kosher comments. So here goes.

Ive been travelling around the province looking for any type of old iron I could, and lo and behold Ive hit the motherload in various locations.

First location:
(3) Pontiac Parisiennes sitting at the back of a farmers field (waaaaaasay back- 30 minute walk through the various connecting fields). 2 of them have 348s in them and 1 has a 409....complete. Front ends are on blocks, but the cars are completely shot. All are 4 speed cars. Everything still in them. Forgot my phone in the truck and didnt get pics. The old fella told me to take what I wanted, so I said Ill be back to grab all 3 soon. Said theyre mine! = SCORE!!!!

Second location:

1969 Nova SS 396-350 HP TH 400. Been sitting too close to the salt water so every panel is toast. 396 and TH 400 was sitting in the garage. Cylinders filled with oil since he removed it in the eighties. Still moves so its not stuck. Motor, trans, and rear end are sitting in my garage now. Absolutely nothing else was salvageable. Even stainless was mangled. Going back later in the fall to grab the 70 Acadian parts car he had at another property in a barn. No rear end, but he claimed it was an SS Acadian that had a 4 speed and crazy small block in it before he blew them up in another car. All trim was mint, doors were mint, has the clutch pedals and floor shift column, disc brake front end, and all the glass that is tinted.

Third location

1967 Impala

Not sure of overall condition. Trudged through 3 high grass to get to it , Opened the hood (hinges were gone)and was met with a 2 round wasps nest. Dropped the hood down and high tailed it outta there, but seen enough to secure a deal to pick it up in the fall. 427 4 speed car, owned by the guys father when new. Looks like is was started to be fixed up a while back but is now sitting along side an old shed

Picked up the 67 Chevelle SS 396-350 HP M-20 4 speed car the other day. Very ripe. No motor, trans, rear, frame, interior, floor, etc., etc.

Have new quarters, drop offs, inner-outer wheel houses, FULL floor with braces from cowl to tail panel, new tail panel, trunk filler, roof skin, inner/outer rockers, door hinge and A pillar assemblies waiting. Have had these parts for almost 20 years when I was going to do the Beaumont.
Have a US frame already, a 67 396-350 HP motor , my choice of Muncie , a 67 Chevelle 12 Bolt, strato bucket seats with head rests, have US doors, fenders, hood, etc to complete the body.
PHEW! Thats a lot of typing.
The list goes on. Have pretty much everything except for the interior (other than seats),  and time.

Anyway, going to see what needs to be done to salvage what I can from the pontiacs this weekend if all goes as planned. Maybe Ill remember a phone next time to take pics. Once everything is in my possession Ill post pics. Dont want to reveal too much in case someone tries to swoop in before I get to them.

Is one of those Parisiennes a white 63 Custom Sport 409, 4 speed with gold interior and power windows?

It made its way around several owners in East End Toronto in the late 60's.

If I found not one, but three cars like 348/409 4 speed cars that I then bought, I'd have posted up pix just so nobody thought I was telling a porky. The rarity alone of those cars deserve a photo or three.

Can any of the dedicated Pontiac guys weigh in on the production numbers of any Pontiac 348 4 speed cars?

Give him a break.  He's been busy building what I would call one of the nicest garages ever!

We're all friends here, why call the guy out?  I'm sure he'll share info when he's ready.  smile

Well, I hope you don't put too much weight on the porkie comment.  I see the guy just joined a day ago and has made 2 postings.  I'm thinking he really isn't representing what most of us on the forum are thinking.  Feel free to share the pictures when it is convenient for you and not under pressure from someone we hardly know.  As MC mentioned many of us have enjoyed following the journey of your garage build.  Please don't let this sour you on the forum.  I've personally met a ton of really good guys through this forum.

Jerel, actually he joined 10 years ago and that was his second post in 10 years!

I sent Gillis a PM telling also telling him that I seriously doubt oldsquid was representing the group here with that comment. And yes, the garage build was an epic thread!

Oh sorry about that. I quickly looked at it but did notice it was just his second post. I was in the sun a little too long today I think!

Haha, no excuse! I was out in the sun most of the day too! Won't be for about 5 days now though if the forecast is right...

Dudes like that are the reason I took a break a couple years ago. Dont know what his deal is but man, give it up. I thoroughly enjoy the majority of the members on here and will continue to do so. Hell get a taste of the stuff I found soon enough, then he can go bug someone else.
