Is this a big 4 door B body?

Z49 is a code that all Canadian cars get and it really depends on year of manufacture but are things that must be added to the car to make it conform to Transport Canada regulations. Could be as mundane as Antifreeze mixture to KPH speedo or French language label or other assorted labels that Gov of Can requires.

Hi.... The Z49 for a Canadian car was a car that was built in the USA (generally) It was extra gas (5 gal) and antifreeze 50/50 mix... Basically because the car may be delivered in below freezing temperatures and it needed extra gas because the transport truck may have to "drive" the car further than average.

Nearly all Corvettes delivered to Canada in the 60's, 70's have this "option" on the option sheet...

Hope that helps

Just a by the way, my Oshawa built Pontiac shows Z49 on the build sheet, granted US built cars all had to have it as well if car was to be sold in Canada.

I suspect that the description of the Z49 on this Australian car is a misnomer, Z49 probably refers to specific requirements for different regions or jurisdictions. They probably just stick the title referring to Canadian standards by habit even when the car is bound elsewhere.

Quite possibly. I did some extensive research on Corvettes for the original GM history guys (before Vintage).  Corvette being built in St louis at the time, the option sheet would have Z49 if it was coming to Canada and they told me then that it was for anti freeze and extra gas....I never looked at any other model of cars so I can't answer to Canadian built cars....

Is this a Yellow coloured car? Quite a few years ago I was in contact with a guy who lived some hours drive out of Adelaide. He had a 1967 Parisienne Convertible in a yellow colour. I was over in Adelaide and sold him a set of spinner hubcaps off a '67 Pontiac/

Same car was at one time owned by a Melbourne Antique Dealer by the name of Paul Kronowitz (or similar sounding name). I recall that car was only 1 of 2 sold in Australia.

I myself have a '65 Parisienne Convertible. One of 49 as you say.
