HEI Re-Curve

Hi fellows

I bought a pertronix  rebuild kit for my used Distributor

After doing some research there are a few parts I should start with

that dont come in the kit.

A centre cam stamped 375

fly weights stamped 49

and a vacume can stamped 10

if anyone has some or all of these parts Im interested in purchasing

these parts or the whole distributor??

Thanks ! Greg

You have an HEI distributor? Or you have a breaker point distributor that you are converting to Pertronix?

Good call Clint!

I do have the original points distributor but its on a shelf.

I have converted to HEI

The HEI in my car now is from an unknown source and works great!

But as this hobby goes we are forever tinkering...

I have a second HEI and a Petronixs upgrade kit and before I put it together

I have done some research and to kinda tailor the ignition curve

to my needs ( I think as Im no expert) I need to start with the parts listed.

I didn't know they made Pertronix kits for HEI's. I thought Pertronix kits were to convert breaker point distributors to electronic.

What exactly is the Pertronix kit for an HEI supposed to do?

Greg

Found this. The post by IgnitionMan seems relevant. He calls it up as 69120 vacuum advance, but he has some pretty strong caveats.

I've also seen numerous references to the melonized gear on the ZZ4 HEI, apparently required for the roller rocker cam?

PROFORM provided ignitions (and other parts) for GMPP, now Chevrolet Performance Parts. So, If you bought a crate engine from GMPP or CPP, your ignition was made by PROFORM, the officially licensed product.

Here are the parts they offer for your recurve...
