The Catalina would have been assembled at the Sainte-Therese plant. Nothing in Trois-Rivieres.

...and its got that very rare 350 V8 BB, which I assume means Big Block but is actually the Blue Block, a Pontiac engine which is how the Catalina was built in Canada.

Clint gave us the details in the old post that I can't find.

The Quebec plant made 1970 Catalinas with all US parts for a very short time in 1970.

So these are indeed, very rare cars.

Nice looking cars!

Does the colour combo on the Catalina strike anybody as being unusual?  I assume that's original upholstery?

Drove a Ste. Therese Catalina for about 8 years, '98-'06 as my get around car hunting winter beater.. all be it with a 350 SB. The "BB" 350 was seized. Never missed a beat. When I moved back to Foam Lake from Rosetown when I worked at the GM dealer for 2 years as mine went under, I pulled my bounty from there with a dolly making 2 trips on the long weekends of nearly 370kms (740kms round trip X2). Still have her in the bone yard!

The colour of the interior is sun fading, all original, and yes we are the original family owners. My grandfather passed and left it to my husband. Its always been stored in our family garage.

What would you like to know?
In 1970 Catalina's were also built at the GM Sainte-Therese plant near Montreal, along with various other Pontiac plants in the USA. The 7th digit of your VIN will be a number or letter, if you provide the 7th digit of your VIN we can identify what plant it came from.

Vintage Vehicle Services in Oshawa ON can provide detailed information on the car if built or sold in Canada.
www.vintagevehicleservices.com/option-info

That will provide the assembly plant, build & ship dates, engine & transmission info, paint & interior codes, and options originally equipped. It can also likely include the selling dealership.

If you are speaking about the Catalina, you can contact GM Vintage Vehicle Services and for a fee they will provide you with all the information about your car- date ordered, date built, selling dealer, options, and production numbers.

Here is the website:
