Opinions on value of 94 GMC

Decided to part with my 94 GMC 2WD and of course, I think it's worth more than most that age. 240,000 K In excellent condition apart from low speed deer impact damaging the left fender and hood. Hood is now a beat up pick and pull replacement.

Interior mint, not winter driven so has 0 rust, and comes with a Bed rug liner and Lo-Rider cover. Stock 350 with ceramic headers-3" exhaust and usual options, inc Pwr seat, Everything works, So, asking opinions on what it's worth?

Very nice truck and low mileage compared to most but the 2wd will keep the price down. Not sure if the extended cab helps or hurts but most guy who want one to restore or rod would probably like a regular cab. Sportier ya know.

I have a couple of these including a quite nice 95 4wd shortbox and I keep getting told that they aren't worth much at all even though they were some of the best trucks GM ever made. I don't get it myself. Most of what you see for sale either has been hacked up or is very high mileage.

If I had to guess I might say $4000.00 according to that kind of thinking. To me more but I'm not looking either.

I think it is a beautiful truck. I agree that 2wd decreases the value.

I also think that it depends on what part of the country you are in. In the lower mainland I think you would start in the 6 to 7 thousand range. No rust is a huge plus. Maybe fix the body damage first?

My 2 cents

You'd get about 7-8k here in PEI. Maybe less where you are because more survive.
Hagerty lists the Chevy version of your truck in their price guides. Prices have been climbing in the last year or so. They rate the Chevy version at $7900USD for "Good" to $14900 for "Excellent". Yours looks to be in between that and closer to Excellent if you fix the damage. It's said these trucks are starting to follow the squarebody trucks in popularity.

I hope I haven't insulted you with my stated value from the above post. That is the value of offers you are probably getting for it in Alberta, unfortunately. I think it is worth more and you certainly would get more if you sold it out of western Canada.

Like I said, I've been trying to sell the two I have and have been more or less insulted by the offers I'm getting locally so I feel your pain.

Actually all along, I've been trying to find a low mileage low option regular cab 1/2 4x4 with a manual tranny from the early nineties for a few years now with no luck. All the ones I can find are modded up, extended cabs or basket cases.

Thanks to everyone that replied. Not insulted at all by the $4K amount (66 Grand Guy), this is about the low I would expect and as others said, 7K to 8K is the high I expected,... yet I've seen as much as 15K. Hence, is why I wanted thoughts on the value since it's sort of all over.

I figure since the lid an box liner alone are worth over 2K, and with recent new parts, tires etc., I'll start high @ $7,500 and see what happens.

Thanks

Wow! And it's a lower end model, not the nicer interior.

A nice 27 year old truck is a hard thing to value, is it valued as a work truck or is it now being valued as a collectible vehicle.

Clearly that gold truck is falling into the later category.

Look at it this way, in 1994 would you have considered a 1967 GMC just a truck or a classic collector? I know it hard for most of us to "see" a 94 as a classic, it's still new, but it is 27 years old now....

Why would a 2wd be less desirable? Rather have 2wd.

 x2

My 2006 33,000 mile Chevy truck  I bought during the winter is 2 wheel drive.

Just the way I like it.

I have no need for a 4 wheel drive.

 Even my 2006 GMC regular cab/long box 4x4 is starting to get interest on PEI. Not a lot of them are in one piece here. All be hanging on to mine until ...

My opinion, is just that - an opinion.

The 73-87 trucks current prices are unjustifiably high.
I believe that the 88+ obs trucks (Original Body Style; also known as GMT-400) are worth holding onto;
I expect these trucks as a whole to go up, and in the long term surpass the 'square body' trucks which precede them.

I realize that these days most prefer a truck with a back seat, but not me.
I have always loved the 67-72 trucks;
I was able to see past some of the "quirks" because they're classics.
After the 67-72, I have ALWAYS preferred the OBS trucks.
I was casually looking for a swb 2wd truck (with preferably a manual transmission) when opportunity arose for me to purchase my grandfather's '92 swb 4x4 'sport' truck off of my cousin - so that's why I have what I have.

@ original poster (1965CS);
Your struck is ABSOLUTELY beautiful!!
I love how clean and mostly unaltered it is!!
I would make a kijiji listing and put it at $8k to see what interest you get (don't make your listing have your phone number - make the respondents email you to better "filter" the jerks)

I don't believe that overall the 2wd will mean it's worth less, but will agree that there is a correlation of higher valued ones having 4wd.

Can you please give me some more information on your carpet/bedliner? - that looks fan-freaking-tastic!!

I recently replaced the household carpet that my grandfather put there (he was a home builder who had just "officially" retired when he bought this truck), and was still there when I got it.
This was his only swb truck, and first 4x4 - he normally had 8' box 2wd "work" trucks.

I have always loved those chrome slotted wheels that the 2wd trucks could have received;
I first saw them when my uncle (son of said grandfather) ordered a '94(?) like yours, but white with the five speed.

Thanks for the compliment, and one thing I refuse to do is alter an original dash so a CD deck is mounted below, c/w amp and small sub in the back. The original stereo-equalizer with cassette works fine if someone wanted to re-connect it.

It is on Kijiji @ 7,500 Calgary and Kelowna, but so far no interest - apart from scammers attempting to get my PayPal info etc.

As for the bed liner, it's called a Bed Rug (brand name) molded to fit that totally encloses the box. The nice features are it keeps it clean, protects it with thick padding, and is oil resistant. The box only has a few scratches.

I can take more pics if you like.

Yeah, you'd be looking at $10K Yanqui bucks, down here, for one that nice. 4WD is a big deal for the Bubba crowd, but we don't get much for winter, so unless you're going swamp diving, it's not needed. The GMT-400s are really coming on in values, now, but then, so is pretty much everything.
