Wondering what the all time rarest, most sought after, collectable, factory OEM delivered, and popular Beaumont would be? Yes "Cheetahs" existed, but that was a dealer conversion.....so no Cheetah cars please. And please just Beaumonts between 64-69, and limit them to the 2dr hardtops, sedan/post, or convertibles. Trying to narrow it down to the holy grail...factory delivered OEM car??

All good answers folks... a highly optioned car with some obscure options would definitely make the grade. I suppose one could think that finding the highest actual sale price of one of these cars could possibly make it a holy grail car too?
What about the 1969 SD-396? Last of the line, based only on the Deluxe hardtop or pillared coupe and IIRC low production numbers (somebody here will have the data I'm sure). The pillared coupe must be particularly rare as I don't recall ever having seen one, in person or on the internet.
More times than not I've seen Beaumonts being changed to emulate SDs, with the twin hump hoods added and often trim and emblems removed, so the SD must be the holy grail for some. Everybody likes big block cars and Chevelle guys always want SSes, so it's natural that the SD-396 would be quite sought after.
For me, personally, my Beaumont grail would be a '68 or '69 Custom with 327 or 350 and 4-speed, but that's just my quirky preference.
WOW...there are some incredible ideas here...I absolutely agree with all the remarks. There must be an anomaly car out there that "accidentally" made it out of the GM factory door?....perhaps a factory installed 427? all by mistake of course?? May be some of the Beaumonts had "Buick Skylark" interiors like some Chevelles did?? Maybe a Z16 1965 SD car with a 396? Or even maybe the rare GM factory liquid tire chain option, installed on a Beaumont to battle the harsh Canadian winters??
Wasnt there a 3 door wagon option for the mid 60s Chevelles? If so, were there any 3 door Beaumont wagons?
You may be thinking of the 3 SEAT wagon. 1964 had it and a 64 Beaumont 3 seat wagon would be SUPER RARE, i dont know if there is one documented, but they did exist.
the 3 seaters were then NOT offered in 65-67. so a 1964 Beaumont Custom 3 seat wagon would be one of the top rarest, but perhaps not most desireable except for me and a select few purists who really "get it"

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
What an impressive group of interesting responses. I can see already that picking a "holy grail" Beaumont is becoming quite difficult. Rarity in numbers is definitely a great part of the selection indeed, but, being desirable to a larger slice of enthusiasts might drive the want/need factor up? for instance, theoretically speaking...perhaps a 3 on the tree, 9 passenger wagon might be ultra rare....but the desirability kind of suffers. Going to be a pretty narrow group of people that desire that car? Perhaps, an ultra highly optioned Big Block SD convertible might drive up the "wow" factor? Many people may be compelled to adore that car...and invest in it heavily? No wrong answers here really, all these Beaumonts have a dedicated following. Incredibly interesting to browse these responses!
I know they never made them but mine would be a "Motion" Red on Red 68 SD "post car" with the chrome pillar trim and white SD stripe.Of coarse with Stinger hood "white stripe" and side pipes.
I'd like to see a '68 Beaumont Custom 4-door hardtop with 275 hp 327 and a 4-speed. From reading the brochure it looks like one could be ordered that way, though none probably were.

Or let's COPO-ize it and get the 350 hp 396...
I knew the shop foreman at our local Pontiac dealer and he told me about a car he woudl service in his early years at the dealership. It was an older couples' 1967 Beaumont Custom Sports sedan with the 275 HP 327. He said he loved to drive it and when it came in for service there was a competition among the mechanic on who would work on it. He described it as gold with brown vinyl roof and gold interior.
I have always thought the Custom was the nicest of the line and one of the nicest I ever saw was a 68 Custom White with Blue interio and Black vinyl roof.
If I had been a young husband in the mid-sixties and wanted a really nice sporty, zippy but still family car, (ie a compromise car that wasn't a huge barge) I would have sat down and ordered a 1966 Beaumont custom sport sedan with shaded glass, PS, PB PWs, tilt, cruise, F41 package and the 327 with Powerglide. I would have loved to order the discs and rallys but those wouldn't be out until 67 and I really prefer the looks of the 66.
That to me would be the perfect young family car and based on my experience over the last few years with a very similar car (except 283 with Powerglide), it still looks darn good today and is probably the most enjoyable car I have ever driven. That to me would be the grail Beaumont.
My 69 2 dr custom L48 350 with buckets and m20 4 speed with factory dual exhaust we are learning is quite rare. it came crystal Turquoise. Cannot find numbers for the m20 l48 bucket.
