Know this 65 SD Convertible?

I purchased this out of Summerside PEI last summer. Was owned locally by gentlemen named Charlie King. Previous owner was out of NB I believe with the last name Hoare. The car was def set up for some bracket racing as it had for some time been converted to 4 spd (and back to a TH350 it has now). Paperwork with car, which isnt much, includes the installation of GM counter engine described as 327/350hp installed in 1981. It is still in it and runs amazing.

Beaumont owners are a small community but so many are in here I thought I would ask if anyone remembers this car and has stories. Thanks in advance!

You can get all the information about your car from GM Vintage Vehicle Services.

They will provide you with documentation showing the date it was built, date shipped, selling dealer, and list all the options your car was built with. Production numbers are also listed.

Is there a vehicle information package in your province ? Ontario has one listing all the previous owners.

I'm a long time Maritimer but have only seen your car when it was on kijiji.  Perhaps you might try a Maritime drag racer's site?

Good luck!  I hope you find some info about your car.

Thanks for responses so far. Yes this was car on Kijiji last summer. When I found out Fischer Body date on car was March 18, 1965, I had to buy it or it found me Im not I sure. I was born the night before at Oshawa General Hospital. Imported and driven non stop back to Delaware with my son following me. Would overheat if not at speed and brakes were horrible and managed George Washington Bridge at 1AM and just got lucky. I have the VVS docs. Car was slated for delivery to dealership in Ontario but province has no record so probably a dealer trade or something else. It was born 230 PG car. A51 padded dash and Sierra Tan Metallic and Saddle vinyl and beige power top. In 1981 the second owner installed 327/350 GM counter engine and they changed it to 4 speed. At some point changed TH350 which is in it now. He also resprayed it its current colour.

Wow, a 230 PG vert! That would be rarer than the much-sought-after Z16 Chevelle! Congratulations. Another Beau in the Mid-Atlantic.

Did the owner before you (Charlie King) pass away before your purchase?

Congrats on the car and safe return.  The GW can be fun at any time of the day, let alone worrying about heating, etc.

your 230 PG was born a month after mine.  Enjoy it
