Question: Working with a 1967 427 Chevrolet Impala (should be the same as Pontiac) Is there a difference in the power steering pump on a big block as apposed to a small block. If so does anyone know the difference. Thanks.
I can't speak to 1967 specifically, but I know for my 1970 Chevrolet engines there is a difference in the power steering pumps between small block and big block. The difference is to where the return line goes back into the reservoir.
I just looked on Rock Auto for pumps for my 1970, and the listings they show are accurate.
So I looked at 1967 327 vs 427. They use different pumps as the return line on the reservoir is quite different.
