Love that KB International crew cab pickup. Probably started life as a King Seagrave or American LaFrance fire truck. Was the Pathfinder the mid-level trim in '58, Laurentian on top? I'm pretty sure the navy one I was hauled around in was a Strato Chief, but that was quite a while ago...
3-4 years ago, I was at a swap meet in Regina... As I was leaving for the final time, I noticed the ad board for cars. I saw a '58 Chev listed, took the info and called on the way home.. a short detour and I was there. Parked in '87 on wood piles, the car was rusty but I was interested in it for the w/shield. Struck a deal, went back for it the next week... had to cut trees from the front bumper and if you look at the first pic, you can still see tree remains between the left edge of the bumper and rear eyebrow.
The interior was decent but smelled of mice, especially when hot outside. I said to heck with it and decided to see if it will start... Did the same as this guy, removed the inspection cover... twisted it over, oil change and decided to throw some fuel at it.. it fired almost immediately. The brakes were good, w/cylinders and a m/cyl kit and it had decent brakes. Did the carb, some skins for tires and I bomb around town in it... what the heck. Still haven't removed the dist cap. I've done this many a time with wrecks from the field.. even has sound duals on it.

I bought the car for parts to do my Cali built Yeoman. 235 engine. Again, same thing, parked for years.. then drove it till I started a restro... (that's still not finished 3 yrs later) Originally a Cay Coral, Arctic White car. Apparently, the nephew hit the right fender... then they painted it this God awful colour. The car is a real sweetheart body and underneath wise. Very little rust.
I bought it from the original owners son. His mom gave me the picture as a keepsake.

Great stories and cool cars, Vince. I get the impression that you have some amazing projects going on and I for one would be happy if you could share some of the details (even if they are not Pontiacs, I like 'em all). I've read about some of your cars in the past, as well as your awesome cross country tour in the '70 Safari.
Anyhow, I'm one of those people who really enjoy stories of cars being brought back to life. Would probably be doing the same thing myself if I had set myself up better with a shop and some land, rather than a small city lot. But anyhow... that's life...
I found myself getting caught up in this video a while back. It's kind of an epic journey (1 hour 40 minutes of video) so I had to watch it in bits. Come to think of it, I don't think I finished watching yet...
