'69 2+2 in Hemmings online auction

I know there's a thread on here, someplace, about this, but I can't find it.

Hemmings Auctions | 1969 Pontiac 2+2

It may accelerate as the end of the auction draws nigh, but it's awfully cheap, right now!

5 hours left in the Auction. 10 bids and at 16 five USD. What will it go for?

That's the million dollar question.  A #3 '69 Impala SS vert with a small block is a low-to-mid thirties car, these days.  The market is bifurcated down here - some are keen to have something unique and "foreign", while others don't want to depart from what's familiar.

I'd say anything less than $30 is a steal, anything over $40 would be a home run for the seller.  Hemmings doesn't have a "hard stop" like eBay, they automatically extend the closing time two minutes any time a bid is submitted <2 minutes from the deadline, to keep "snipers" from bumping bidders who would have gone higher, if they'd had the chance.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Yea. 19500 and reserve not met. Extending auction.

40? Not for a SB regardless of condition. $30, yes.

Still going. Somebody bumped it to $20,001, but I doubt that's going to get the job done.

Went for $23,000! Seems like a deal on wheels, to me. I'm putting my '62 Impala SS 409/409 coupe on that site, shortly. I like how they let two bidders go head-to-head. It looked as though there was a dealer ("Balticclasic") bidding against an individual ("JimBob123"), and the collector won.

$24150 USD.

Low to mid 30's CDN including the fees. Well bought I'd say.

What a great looking car and that 300 horse 350 is a bonus, nice engine.

Since the auction is over, I think it's safe to do a slight derail here....

On a side note, I see it has the idle solenoid. I'm used to seeing those on air conditioned cars. Is that common on non a/c cars in 69?

my 70 Parisienne with the 350 2bbl had the idle solenoid (before it got the big motor transplant).   I don't remember if the 70 2+2 400 2bbl had the solenoid, but I think it did (a quadrajet replaced the 2 bbl before I sold it).
