Great price. Way out of my budget, though.

A friend of mine had a similar car. 1973, 454 auto, blue with white stripes and blue interior. Pulled the 454 and put it in his dually and put a 250 six in the Laguna. His wife liked the gas mileage after swapping in the six.

Now even the big bumper Colonnade's have become the rich mans fancy.

Good for those that own them!

Very cool!  Love those oddball 1 year only cars.

Friend of helped junk a '73 SS 4-speed car about 30 years ago.  Even then, he was saying what a shame that they were junking it, being such a rare car...

I happen to really like them Ray. They were of a time of when I really started thinking about cars. Everywhere you looked, there they were.

It's nice to see they're getting their due.

There used to be a couple of these 73 SS 4 speed cars in my area back in the 80s.

My 27 year old son loves the 73 SS. It's not my favorite of the colonnade coupe era but I do like some of those cars. The 73-75 Grand Am is number 1 for me, followed by the 73-75 Cutlass, then the 73-75 Laguna Type 3. But they all have a certain appeal in hindsight.

Back when I had my '73 Lemans, I wished I had an earlier car that was a hardtop.  In retrospect, I really appreciate the Lemans now.  The styling was a radical departure from the earlier cars and really stands out, even among other old cars (IMHO 1973 was the best iteration for all the '73-'77 A-bodies).

Another thing is that GM made chassis/suspension improvements for that generation of A-body, and after driving some earlier examples, my opinion is that they are a much better car on the road than the 1972 and before.  Not that my opinion is important, because it's not.  biggrin

Dad's 77 LeMans Sport Coupe was a great driving car. I wouldn't say the handling was spectacular but it was better than the earlier generation of LeMans. It was also pretty good on fuel and extremely reliable.

Actually that price is reasonable considering the 72 and earlier go for even more.

My 77 Lemans Sport was a great handling car. By the mid 70s GM had worked out the handling and braking to a much higher standard than even 5 years before IMO.

Some 1970's GM cars had a dash plack  'RADIAL TUNED SUSPENSION'

There is considerable interchange of suspension parts between the F body and 73-77 A body so in some respects you are getting a Camaro/Firebird similar suspension.
