Hmmm, looks familiar.   Here's the one for my 70 Parisienne, the chassis was from a 69 2+2.    Also has a 4 speed crossmember (to mount the Muncie shifter), and the rear sway bar.

I need the proper measurement to drill the holes for the rear sway bar.

Not seeing it in the assembly manual anywhere.

Off to the races !

006a.jpg

The dog wanted to come.

Engine will be popped apart and re-lubed before break-in, on the Dyno, in a few weeks.

The engine will be test fired with the points I got eariler this year from Lemans64

The engine and M-20 transmission will come back home as one unit.

All assembled by Bill Little.

By the way, Bill built me a transmission 30 years ago.

200,000 kms later, I still smile of how strong that unit is.

The Z-bar has seen better days.

This will take some thinking.

 Thanks Carl.

Clint has pointed out that the bevel is needed for the linkage to the Colum in 1969s.

Most aftermarket bars do not have the bevel.

When you find one like this,

"Sold out" appears no

Installing the worn z-bar or the linkage to the column?

Sorry, the linkage to the column.

Randy, have you ever considered an upgrade to clutch linkages with rod ends?

They are available, would be quite straightforward to substitute them in place of those old crude linkages.

Far less friction meaning a little bit less effort on a performance clutch, way more durable along with being super easy to adjust. I'd wanted to do these on the 65, but just went with what I had. Still think about them and that I should have done it as they make so much more sense. When it comes to practical improvements like these, I feel they will never detract from the car being original.

These are chevelle, but I know I've seen them for the B.

My 63 has the clutch adjustment on the z bar end of the clutch rod through the wall, you can adjust the clutch leaning over the fender without removing the rod, is that how adjustment works on these?

Yes, same idea. They have a double nut clevis on the rod from the pedal at the Z bar end. At least on 66 they do and the Z bar part number in the parts book is the same for 65-69. Just the 69 had that dimple for the rod from the trans for the reverse lockout.

The rod from the Z bar to the fork is solid originally but I've seen these adjustable rods like Mark showed. I should know the actual original application but can't recall it right now.

Pre 63, the lower rod from the zbar had the adjustment, a real pita to adjust. It also had the other style clutch fork, with a bolt and pin instead of the ball end, I prefer the bolt an pin style. On my 62, I threaded the rod end and converted the upper zbar end to the 63 style. I could adjust the lower end snug in the neighborhood , when installing the lower linkage, then fine tune it up above when the car was running and driveable.
