Somebody was looking for Pioneer components a few years ago.  Can't remember who.

You have a good memory... that was me.  I've collected everything I need, but always open to more.  Like Canadian Pontiacs, old Pioneer car component stereo has a very specific audience.

Randy, you have a KEX-20 deck, CD-5 equalizer and a GM-120 amp.  I have the exact same pieces... very high quality stuff.  Feel free to PM me if you want more info or whatever.

I am really looking forward to your build!

Very cool Bob,

I now have in my procession a very cool Blaupunkt stereo.

My Delta 88 budy has the Pioneer for his 88.

I could trade him the Blaupunkt stereo and send you the Pioneer stuff for a donation to Canadian Poncho.

About 8 years ago, Mark gave me a very nice 1st generation, stock, AM (with speaker rear control) that will be going in the 2+2

Who would have thought, Mark, the radio you saved years ago would end up in a very special place.

No sure if it was Clint but years ago, I saw this trick done

The Cluster on this car has the lens painted over in flat black.

Don't think it's the original cluster.

Used a part I got from Jerel a few years back and printed something right of the net.

With use of my photo shop, sized printed on phot paper.

Yes, I had to paint over the lens on the one in my 4 speed car.   I used a black Krylon Fusion plastic paint.

But have since attained the proper block-off plate, it'll find it's way into the car someday.

Took my 3 Parisienne, driver's doors to the body shop today.

I wanted him to pick one before I gut it.

While the door on the left and door on the right have no major dings, both have a small amount of rust in the seams.

The centre door has one bad gouge but is otherwise perfect.

Played "Let's make a deal"

He picked Door #2 because there would be no surprises behind the door biggrin

My body guy would rather deal gouge than the surface rust that may break back out at a latter date.

I have a 2+2 door for the passenger side from Howmac.

The stalled project in our way is leaving next week for storage.

We are going to pop the frame off and take advantage of an expert frame guy before he heads south for a few months.

He will laser measure and inspect for any problems.

If there is any bad news on the frame, better off to face it now.

Late last night, the frame came home.

I'm used to Convertible frames.

Skinny little thing wink

No real surprises, great condition.

Wednesday it will get checked for straightness by a local shop.

After that, the dismantling starts.

Tips on that welcomed.

I will buy back the traction bars and hardware from you once you remove it . I was thinking of taking it off earlier on , but it was part of the car's history.

They will come back to you, no charge.

Just the shipping.

Larry should be heading you way in the spring.

My goal is to try to make the car as close to assembly line as possible.

Thanks , Its good to know Larry will be making another trip west in the spring ..... I'll keep that in mind if I need to buy anything else in your area. The same thing goes if you need anything to back east .

The inspection went well.

No cracks and no rust through.

All the measurements were bang on with only one exception,

005a.jpg

003a.jpg

The torque would have been so high that it popped the frame cross member.

It would have been welded from below.

The frame guy said the welds look to be very old.

After the frame gets sand blasted, this will be corrected.

The frame is now in my shop and the dismantling begins next week.

Met with Franklins in Woodstock and they said they would be happy to do the blasting when I am ready.

It was a torque monster ! .... My 69 SS427 L72 frame was reinforced back in the day , in the exact same spot. Those frames would twist with that kind of torque

FYI - don't lose the rubber pads on top of the frame behind the front wheels (they look like hockey pucks). My body mount kit didn't come with those and had to re-use the originals.
