The Energy Suspension rear bushings I ordered are listed for 1965 to 1970.However, 1969 and 1970 rear suspensions are different than 1965 to 1968 suspenions.Rock Auto knew that.But I ordered from Summit Racing.The 69-70 use the same bushings for all the rear connections.1965 to 1968 different bushings.Lesson learned,Fortunately, Energy Suspension's "help line" has got the right parts on the route to my place. (at extra cost)

They install inside the bushing and the mounting bolt goes through them.

The rings fit on the outside of the big end of the bushing where it sits outside the arm. Stabilizes the arm itself a little more inside the bracket I figure?
This is how they fit on a pair I did years ago.
The picture is not accurate of contents, I have found out, the hard way.

That's the metal tubes, I wonder about the big black ones.
One job to do tonight,
A little bit of blasting sand got into the differential.
I had to get every last grain out.
I think I will give it a final shot of compressor air tomorrow.

With the body 90% done, it needed a home until the frame is fully assembled.

Today's sticking point.
The caliper on the right side does not fit into the bracket.
The left side fits perfectly !
Both calipers mesure the same.
I guess I need to grind some materaloff the bracket ?
Yep !
Got the Dremel out cleaned that area up and touched it up with brush on heat paint.
Now a thin piece of cardboard slides in between the bracket and the caliper.
Think of how red hot these rotors will get, she'll have some speed.
Had an expert over today to go over everything with the 12 bolt posi.
If you remember, I found out it was a 4:10
Then I cracked it open and found a spacer
Today we pulled the carrier apart.
All great news !
It looks like all the cluch plates are vertually new with no wear at all.
Everything is in great shape.
I'm thinking they must have built the differential just before the sat for all those years,
And it gets even better,
We assembled and dry fitted the 3:31s Mark sold me.
Everything lines up perfectly.
No spacer of course.
Everything Mark included in this kit impressed and excited my builder.
He may be a 9 inch builder and has not touched a GM posi in 20 years but he is excited based on what is in front of him.
I'm glad I learned how to build a 12 bolt. Next to a TH400, It was one of my favorite bust that black art experiences.
Glad he's happy with the parts Randy, there is a couple in there that should make the job so much less trouble.
Oh, and good on you finding out the carrier was spaced, and that all the parts looked nice! They never go this way.
