Interesting that it's a factory 4 speed non SS car. I am guessing it would have been a 12 bolt originally and it certainly didn't come with the 327 but I like it!

A friend in high school had a 70 Nova that was a factory 307 with a three speed on the floor. Perhaps this one was originally a three speed. GM documents needed!

In '70 you could get a 4-speed with any V8. Not so in '71+, just SS-only. The '70 Acadian in question probably started as a six 3-in-the-tree, as 327s were gone after '68, as far as an Acadian is concerned. No matter, it looks like a nice car and 327s can rev. 10-bolts were used through the 350 2-barrel. I like the idea of a 4-speed, just be sure to run a genuine Hurst

As far as factory floor shift as mentioned by Paul (Prefectca) that his High School friend had, they did offer a floor shift option (M11) for cars that came standard with the column shift 3-speed. Kind of obscure, I think they ran '69 - '71? My brother's friend Jim bought an original '70 Nova back in '75 that was equipped from the factory with 230 3 speed floor shift, manual steering & brakes, factory Rally Wheels, Exterior Decor, Custom interior with buckets. IIRC it had a h.d. clutch.
Jim swapped in a new in the crate 350/300, a Muncie, some kind of strip dominator intake & big Holley, headers, L79 cam, LT-1 valve covers. It was kinda scary fast once the revs climbed. They are light unibody cars and a small block sits well.

I was going to ask if the 327 wasn't gone after 1969;
I seem to recall that the 327-2bbl was standard fare in early Camaro RS's - there was a paintfully original '68 equipped that way which showed up at my High School for servicing at the auto tech shop.
