Chrome Big Block Valve Covers 1966-72 / Not mine


Chrome Big Block Valve Covers 1966-72 | Engine & Engine Parts | Muskoka | Kijiji

Original OEM chrome valve covers , GM application for big block 396, 427, 454. These are for the disc brake application with factory indentation to clear power brake boost. In very good used condition with spark plug stand mounting points. View pictures for minor pitting from wear and condition of finish. Does polish up very well. Very good driver quality. They do look quite tall. 

My valve covers don't have the indentation and clear the brake booster no problem, so I think certain cars needed the indentation.   These do not have the drippers inside to oil the rocker arm balls.

Look like aftermarket.... Look at the bolt holes, there does not appear to be enough clearance to get the socket on the bolt. I can't be sure from the pics, just a thought speaking from experience...

I have two sets OEM and those do not look OEM. I believe the Corvette needed the indentation.

 Or you could use a set of those chrome wing-style valve cover studs. I had a set of those back in the 70s.
