65 custom sport steering wheel

Just wondering if the steering wheel on my car should have been two tone red and clear.  As far as i know its never been changed  Its all red now like the lower end models.

Howdy, as far as I know checking with my brother who has the black 409 custom sport, his came with a two tone wheel (black and clear) and he had a couple of other 65 Custom sport  parts cars over the years that all had a two tone wheel. Not sure what happened in your case.

Likely just a replacement 65 Impala wheel. They had the identical shape with the 4 metal rings, but lacked the Lucite that the Bonny, Executive and Parisienne had.

The 2 lower model 65's Strato and Laurentian had a different wheel altogether that the Parisienne line.

Nice extra pedal and that shifty lever thingy!

I'm fairly certain that the 65 CS versions had the two tone, at least every one I owned did.

So it was the Parisienne that got the clear?

Maybe red in the CS was always a single tone?

I believe so, in particular the CS model. I've never seen a two color version like yours, interesting.

I have 2 of the black-clear wheels. Both are in poor shape and would like to get one restored some day.
