What’s this 327 out of?

Deciphering the 327 the 67 Acadian 4 door.

Block casting 3914678
Head casting 3917291
Engine pad stamping V0410HH

I think Ive decoded it, but looking for input to verify what I think it is

I have some questions.

Do you have the casting date, likely on the passenger side rear, opposite the 3914678?

Do you have a casting date and valve size (intakes) on the heads?

And do you know for sure it's a 327? There is a 350 also with that casting number that is coded HH.

I'm betting with that casting date and those heads that it's an early 1969 300 horse 350.

Cant get a good pic. Caked in crud. Cant get phone in to get a good pic anyway. I have feelers out on Stevesnovasite too and everything is pointing towards a 300 hp 350 with TH 400 from a full size chev. Either way I feel it is still a stout little motor

Yes, those 350/300's were a nice powerplant. Regardless of what it is, because of the heads all indications are its a great engine 327 or 350.

The lime book shows HH as a 327 in a Corvette or a 1969 passenger car 350.

It pretty much has to be the 1969 350 because the 678 casting block is a large journal block.

Ill have to check the casting date on the back of the motor. The previous owner said the motor came from his best friend who owns Molands Corvettes (Blair Moland) in Bridgewater Nova Scotia and he thought the motor was a 327. Be interesting if it was a 327 Vette motor. Worth freshening up either way. It runs great with zero smoke and pulls great as well. Lumpy cam in it so it has a nice idle too.
Maybe this could be the candidate to have the tunnel Ram with 2 four barrels on it! Wait and see

I don't see how it can be though because for sure it's a large journal block (because of the casting number) and the only HH stamping 678 block is the 350. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to enjoy it as is.

It could be built as a large journal 327 using a 350 block. No way to tell for sure unless you pull it apart. I would just enjoy it as is. As Carl mentioned, the casting code is for a large journal block so it has to be 1968 or newer and the HH stamping code shows it originally was a 350 engine.

I reckon it's a 1968 327 275hp if the heads are original. The heads are 1968 Saginaw cast fuelies, should be machined at Flint V8 along with the block. HH aside it can only be a 1968 327 275hp or 350 295hp if the valves are 1.94/1.5 - as pointed out above its a large journal block and the heads are 1968 only (except for those few that appeared late in 1967 model year). Not all the lists online are complete, common for some to be missing and this HH will be one of them. It may be one of those obscure numbers used with TH auto late in 1968.
