In the 1970's I had a cousin who was a district manager for GM. He ordered a fully loaded 1976 Monte Carlo for me. He drove it for 3000 miles. I had to pick it up in Chatham which was in his district. The car even had an electric sun roof but no posi or side tinted glass. The posi omission was on purpose for fuel economy but the tinted glass omission was an on the line error. I only kept the car for a year as I was building a new house and needed all the cash I could get. My father during this era bought new loaded Impalas through him from 1973 to 1980. These super deals came to an end when he was transferred to British Columbia.
There was a 1969 Biscayne in Timmins 427 425 hp four speed that was purchased new in Toronto and driven of the lot to Timmins. This car had factory 456 gears .The person that bought it was a friend of mine who recently passed away from Dementia. The only option the car had was tinted glass. It was a stripper with rubber floor mats no radio etc.
