I had a couple empty 2 series posi carriers, and I had bought all the guts to get one of them on the road. However I sold all the guts as I figured I'd never go through with that plan. Later I got a spare diff with 2.73 gears, and got a good deal on a populated 4 series posi carrier. I took all the guts out of the 4 series carrier, inspected them and was satisfied with their condition. I installed them in the 2 series posi carrier, mounted the ring gear but am yet to put the carrier in the diff. The photo I posted a bit earlier is of my setup when I was putting the guts into the carrier.
