Certainly one of the things is being a grandparent, you are right.

Looking forward to the program.

It's a Pontiac
It's a '63 Stratochief with a three on the tree
And it belongs to me
And my baby
Her and me
We go driving down old highway seventeen
She puts on the radio
Rolls down the window
Lays her head back
It's a Pontiac

It ain't got no wild horses painted on the side
And the objects in the mirror are precisely their own size
It's got a chrome Indian in front of the door
Might be an Apache or an Arapaho
Or a Pontiac

There was an incident last night
At seventeen and third
It all happened so fast nobody's really sure
But somebody held the rifle, somebody held the sack
And as fast as they were there
Well they were gone just like that
In a Pontiac

The anti-freeze is boiling and the oil pressure's low
And the pedal's to the metal and it's as fast as it can go
And the stain on her shoulder I getting darker you know
And the radio keep blasting out the facts
It's a Pontiac

Beaumontguru and I spent the day auto wrecking and listened to your show until about 8:30 when we arrived back in Morris. Some pretty good stuff and we both agreed, we've never heard that Eagles song before.

Finally had a chance to listen in. Didn't catch the whole show but what I did was very entertaining. Some stuff I had never heard before and some that it's been a long time. Great job Ken.

Thanks!  I try to keep it just on the entertaining side of actual weirdness. (Sometimes I cross over.) Hopefully you'll listen again.

So this week at 6 Oclock Alberta time its a series of mini salutes to musical longevity and talent. I will be playing some early career, mid peak and late stuff from  the Stones, Don Williams, Neil Young, The Mills Brothers, Jesse Winchester, Willie Nelson. Ian Tyson and other artists. its  a bunch of three song capsule summaries of some great careers from some great people, some of whom  aren't around any more. Could be fun and maybe just a bit poignant. Tune in if you can!

I'd never heard Dolly Parton's "Rock Star".

Her best piece of music ever by far...

I managed to get most of the show tonight. I like the three song theme over long careers!

Thought you'd never ask!  This week i have put together another volume of music from the movies as I got a pretty good reaction from the first time i tried that.

There will be some good war movie stuff, some music from a few dusters, some Coen brothers movie music, some great escapist stuff and even a Canadian movie tune or two (or three) including one that should make the car guys squeal with delight! (Ok, maybe not that strong a reaction but it will be groovy.)  I'm also finally setting up a better feedback loop with an email address just for the show.  it will be: kenpotagedumusic@gmail.com for those who want to get in the act.

So there ya go. Only a few hours to wait for the really big shew!

Your ability to come up with endless unheard before music (by me, that is!) is amazing.

Thanks again Ken.

Fast Company.   Corny movie by todays standards, but some great footage of canadian drag racing at its finest.  Worth watching

Oh man, long time since I saw that show. As I recall it was pretty low budget.

Its the kind of show you have watch in a mancave on a VCR with pizza and beer.  Having been to Speedway quite a few times in the seventies, I really treasure that footage.

Glad you liked the show. Next weeks show falls on Remembrance day so i think you'll know the theme.
