Oil pressure sensor same as Chevy for 1963??

Ive got a Chev oil pressure sensor in my car and it triggers the Parisienne 283 oil light in the dash. Is the part number for the Pontiac and Chevy the same in 63?

My oil pressure light turns on with the key and stays on after the car starts, then shuts off after a bit. I also run a mechanical oil pressure gauge, it shows 50 lbs oil pressure. Im thinking a bad sensor? Just wondering if the one in the Pontiac may be different than in the chevy?

Rock Auto list a 63 AC Delco as part number 89057533, ac Delco D8050.

Interesting, I see that.

I guess it was bound to happen that the part number would change. My entire 40 years working in GM parts that is one number that never changed! But it has since I retired in 2020. I checked the AC Delco online catalogue and it agrees with Rock Auto.

Ok- Rock Auto Chev 409 and 327 list ac Delco D8050 with OEM as I said above. For 1963 Parisienne they list AC Delco C8020, OEM 19106700, for both 327 and 409 AND the 389, 421, in the 1963 Catalina, Bonny, and GP. Maybe there is a different ohm thing happening in a Pontiac dash? On the US models, it says the same sensor is good for oil light and oil gauge. Ill have to order a C8020.

I couldnt believe what it fits. From Amazon reviews, it fits a 66 Chev, John Deere, Kubota, and these guys list it only back to 1984 models of Dodge, Jaguar, Jeep, Volvo, etc.

Very generic "switch". Sensors with gauges are most times specific. That switch will fit most if not all 6 and 8 cyl Chevies. (and obviously many others)
