Since it is not connected in an genuine way to the machinery at work and is all just show, I'm not impressed. Who knows, it may become popular with the Virtual Reality crowd.

Not to be pessimistic, but there has always been a little B.S. surrounding cars, and this is just one more example.

Beats the 'white noise' put out by some EVs and hybrids at low speeds (to help alert pedestrians that a vehicle is approaching).  I find some of them really irritating.

Really, though, I kind of resent the whole EV thing being pushed on us (staying away from politics), but if we have to have them then fake V8 sounds beat that nails-on-a-chalkboard high pitched whine that is natural to EVs any day.  I'll still take good old real engine noises any day of the week.  Long live the internal combustion engine!

Ban the Automobile, Instrument of death!!

Internal combustion had lots of growing pains, EVs are having them too. Henry Ford kept finding out how to build a cheaper car and dropping the price. It seems our EV and ICE builders are trying to build the most expensive vehicles and making the most profit.

I dont miss those stinky polluting old diesels when driving on the highway, that was a major improvement getting rid of that black. A major battery invention and a major price drop will sell EVs and making them sound like a V8 is good. The other choice may be making them sound like a Honda Civis with a faart can muffler.
