I like this car too. I wonder where it is now? Same with the Mayfair Maize with red interior Beaumont that apparently was sold new in Peurto Rico.

That car is so nice, I don't think I could drive it with that 6, although we did have a Laurentian as our family car with a 230, and Dad never seemed to ha e a problem passing multiple cars on cottage runs back in the day.

Not sure the colours go together but certainly a nice original example.
Is this an auction from 2010?

No stranger to 6 cylinder cars as I had a '65 Impala SS with a 230 cubic inch and my Dad had a "67 Chev with a 250 cubic inch.

The color combination is unique. I was at a show and there was a 67 Camaro. It was turquoise and had a gold interior. I thought it must have been a custom change. When I inspected the trim tag though, it was a factory combination. That one did look a little awkward.

Emerald Turquoise with red seems like an incongruous colour combination, yet I have seen saris with turquoise & red together that work. Who knows what inspiration or motivation each individual has for colour choices or a favourite.

Seeing this 2+2 with a 250 reminds me of an article I read by Tom McCahill, road tester for Mechanics Illustrated. Tom had a tight deadline and had to pick up a new '66 Tempest with a 1-barrel OHC 6. He flew to Detroit & buzzed back to Florida at 75 mph. He was amazed at the parsimony at upper speeds. His impression is that you could save a lot of money on gas over the course of a year, even in the era of cheap gas.

Really the inline six keeps up with traffic effortlessly unless it is north of 70 mph.

I remember following a 6-cylinder '64 Laurentian onto the Don Valley Parkway. Despite the 1-barrel carb & 6-into-1 exhaust manifold, the Laurentian had no trouble merging, due to the instant torque.

Food for thought:

Above is the 1963 introduction of the thin wall 230. Modernized and simple, rugged and understressed, it is a great workhorse. Not everybody loves them though, especially if you are into big blocks.

I have a '67 250. A neighbour who had a '72 Lemans GT 400 4-speed drove it and was actually shocked at the bottom end torque. Why do you think UPS still runs the old 292 sixes? Because they are really tough to kill, are simple, and have strong low end torque for the displacement.

A 292 is a different story Cam, come on, that's nearly a 5 litre 6 cylinder with a long stroke.

Also plenty of stories abut the 261 in tri 5's being better than the 265 V8 too.

I can verify the statement about the 261. Lots of torque and can cruise at 70 mph all day long. I have taken quite a few friends for a ride in my original 55 pontiac and all were quite surprised at the performance of the 261. The car having a 3:70 gears helps it. No comparison to a chevy 235 . The 261 just out pulls substantially. My car now has 106,000 miles. I had the cylinder head rebuilt last year and it really woke the engine up.
