Is a 69 B Tilt steering column rag joint different than non tilt?

I've managed to get a line on a 69-70 Tilt column that would be very welcome option in my 69. wink

Questions;

Is the rag joint different?

Will the standard steering wheel fit right on without any special adapter? I'd like a deluxe comfort grip or walnut wheel eventually, but until then..

Tilt wheels are the best, glad you have a line on one! The rag joint is the same and the standard wheel will also fit. I believe all the wood wheels have some sort of adapter, but not tilt column specific.

As Robert indicated, the rag joint is the same, but you'll need the flange for the bottom of the steering column.
On a non-tilt column the flange is part of the column, but on the tilt column it needs to be added for the column to mate with the rag joint.

Good to know about the flange.

And to really screw you up, there are various flanges available.    Here's a photo of a 70 2+2 hdtp with tilt, and it's flange measurement.   7/8" from flange face to centerline of bolt.

I have a tilt column, but haven't gotten around to installing it.  It was missing it's flange, so the hunt was on a number of years ago.

The 7/8" flange measurement was determined by comparing the tilt to non-tilt column.

 Do you still need a flange? I can get you one on my next wrecking yard visit if you do.
