Description.

The car is a true original number matching Pontiac 2 + 2 convertible. It has the original number matching 396 Chevy Big Block which was a option in Canada along with its original 2 barrel Rochester carburetor. Has the 3 speed factory Turbo Hydramatic transmission and factory console and it's 12 bolt rear end.
The car has been sitting parked as pictured for over 30 years in a heated basement beneath a home. It has not been moved in years and it has been nursed and started on occasion. The original mileage is 91,000.
I've tried to capture the pictures that I did. As you can see the H78 rayon tires and factory 2 + 2 hubcaps intact. All the original 2 + 2 emblems and trim intact and 396 emblems too. These factory original logos and emblems are near impossible to find. Nothing has ever been removed and even the original T3 headlights are there. The convertible top is fine with no rips or tears and interior in great shape. I've installed a battery and everything powers and lights up normally. I will tell you that the engine has not been fired up in years and I carefully tried to hand turn crank but will need a good soak to break loose. It ran fine years ago when last parked. A good dosage of Marvel Mystery oil for a few days will break this girl loose. She's a 396 big block and say no more. I have the original 2 barrel air cleaner in trunk. Numerous other parts including new brake shoes. The car has lived its early years in Montreal weather and will require some floor panel and trunk liner work. It will need a restoration to your level and understand it's all original so suspension, exhaust, etc will need attention. The VIN of car is correct on engine pad and engine never removed. It has power steering and power brakes. All glass intact and good. Doors open and close effortlessly and no sagging or lifting..

Again this is a true original 2 + 2 that was built and sold in Canada for the Canadian market and hosts the optional 396 Big Block. It is not a Pontiac blue engine series as in the USA. Please do your homework on these subtle differences as there's a wealth of knowledge online. VIN is 7686791155710. Title is clean. Single family owned since 1969.
These beautiful Pontiacs from the late 60's have well recognized lines. The conical nose says it all. Needs a good home to bring her back to glory.

Didn't a member here comment at some point about this car. Basically warning us that it was a pile of decay or the like and to not bother?

Doesn't matter, I think it's a great piece. It's still a rare one with only 630 or so ragtops 2+2's made, let alone with any form of BB. Hopefully it makes it's return.

I guess the warning is, don't plan on getting in and driving it anywhere. It would be a great save, but we know how much hand-fabrication goes into bringing one of these crusty veterans back.

You can see the car is quite original, with some personalizations done like extraneous 2+2 emblems, a Grant walnut wheel, chrome valve covers & aftermarket air cleaner. Plus the '64 Custom Sport wheel covers. The sort of stuff you would've done in the first few weeks or early years of ownership. Seeing some stripes on it suggests that the car may even have largely original paint. Dual white-stripe tires went out of production after the 1971 run.
Mercifully it hasn't been bastardized and hot-rodded, I mean a 2-barrel carb still? The 396 fender Vs project enough authority (assuming you need to compensate for something  wink )

I guess I like what it once was, and I could imagine what it was like. To bring it back would take a realistic commitment of time, money and resources. Worth saving? Hmmm. Define "worth".

I just noticed , that the owner installed rear seat headrests ... never seen that done before . It would look a little odd with the convertible top down .

That sounds like it might be the car Larry Kosek got from Wetaskiwin AB.  Correct?  Pretty much fully loaded except a/c, Carousel Red paint.
