What is this thing in my 1970 Bonneville engine bay ???

I been wondering about this apparitus, located on the driver side inner fender well, since I bought my car. I can see that it's not hooked up to a vacuum source. Is it an old style pump of some sort or maybe cruise control ???

I commented in response to one of your posts on Sept 23. If it has air shocks it could be that it is some sort of a pump to keep them inflated. It looks just like the one that was on my 56 Chev. I can't remember exactly how it worked (it was 25 yrs ago, though I still have it somewhere), but it definitely pumped up the shocks.

Thanks, I got different feedback from other folks. I also didn't find any air shocks under the car, that's why I was asking again. Although It would explain why it's disconnected. Somebody said it could be a pump to inflate tires...??

i was thinking on putting air shocks on mine. I have a little compressor that would probally do the trick, just wire it up with a switch and voila. I wonder if that would work?

I can see if I can find it, but I think I had a pic of something like that somewhere with it being called a compressor.

"Edit"   WRONG, ignore this thought!!!

I thought I saw something like this once, it had something to do with the cruise control.
It was on a 69 GP

Both still require a lot of work.

Well I found another apparitus today tucked away at the front corner of the passenger side fender by the rad and I am 100% positive this is the load leveler storage tank, it was disconnected as well. Does it work in conjunction with the previous posted one ?

I saw a cruise unit in a wrecking yard yesterday that looked exactly like the first 2 pics you posted Pascal.
