Took advantage of a nice day to replace the battery in my Canso. Looks like a shelf life of 5 years and 6 months is all I get from the old one. Bought a new Exide, 800 cold crank for a reasonable sum. Installed it and warmed the car for 30 minutes outside, wishing it was spring. ARCADIAN

ok I am curious.. I have seen in-floor heat in sheds,barns,shops,apartments, and my Suburban has a rear heater...Tell me more, about in-floor heat in your truck? Carl
I gutted the interior, cut the felt underlayment in a snake pattern, to accept high temp hose not heater hose too thick OD, t-eed it off under the hood into the heater hoses, to control temp inside of truck I simply use a ball valve inline and leave just half way, never freezes has coolent in it, warms inside when truck is plugged in overnight, ambiant temp from the coolant circulating from the block heater, instead of blowing around cold air, feet stay warm I stay warm, sweeeeet

you think thats neat, k, hows this one, wanna save money at the pump?, sure, want your ride to burn cleaner(no more black tailpipes), sure, want your plugs to last longer, sure, 1st thing I did was got rid of the stock coil, and air intake,put in an MSD coil (same price as a stock one), and the K&N intake 200bux, each one alone saved me about 10% in fuel and gave me Im just guess now, extra 10%HP. My plugs Ive gapped slghtly tighter, instead of.044 theyre now .042, burns hotter, bigger spark, then to top it off I rerouted my fuel lines, they run parallel wrapped with the heater hoses prior to fuel delivery into the intake, what is happening is, you are simply increasing the volume of the fuel wih it warm, prime example is summer, car always starts and runs sweet in the summer, winter, the molicules of the fuel have (huddled together) to stay warm so it doest freeze, the gas pumps at local stations are "volume corrected" to 30deg.
Ummm, yeah, that's it, a dry cold. Uh-huh......!!!
Actually, I have never hated or even somewhat disliked winter. There's tons of fun stuff to do (curling, snowblowing, sledding, cranking donuts etc) and I get way more garage time. I love the outdoors in the summer and the garage in the winter!

I feel your pain having lived up in Exeter for a while, grew up in Stratford, and had to do Exeter to Goderich for work. Huge walls of snow on 4 from Brucefield to Clinton. Now it's just light driving between Tburg and St. Thomas. Still, we got more snow and there's a snowsquall warning for tonight too...including up your area...of course

Well i'm hoping for a half decent drive home. I know having experienced all that snow fun up that way driving down here can be like a walk in the park. I'll be glad to get home, maybe sit down, watch TV and put the fireplace on.
