Engine project starts soon..........(I hope.)

I dug out my stuff to get ready. If the planets all line up I should be able to start assembling my 327 next week. Hopefully just in time for the Manitoba chapter of CP to gather here on the 24th and go "oooh" and "aaah" over it on the engine stand!

Boy, I'd love to be driving it by the time the kids get out of school for the summer. With any kind of luck that should happen. I don't have to spend much more on parts. I have all the pistons, valves, etc. Heads are done ready except for assembly. I have the clutch, flywheel, bellhousing all ready to go, pedals are in the car, floor hump fitted for the 4 speed. Engine compartment detailed and ready to go. Exhaust manifolds blasted and coated with that cast iron coating from POR15. Brand new Holley that came with a dyno test sheet. Should have all my brackets and pulleys in order. Pretty much ready I think. I just haven't had time this winter so far to get at it, but I was aiming for Christmas for start date. I didn't quite make it!

Could you video the start up, so we can listen... If we have video recordings, how can we upload them? I tried, but it said no thank you..

I already had Piston Ring bore the block about a year ago. Otherwise none needed.

And Steve, can we keep that our little secret about where I'm doing it???!!! It's gonna be hard to hide the block though. I think we may have to modify one of the kitchen cupboards a bit.....

And I don't have a digital movie camera with sound, yet.....................

It will be similar to an L79. Little more conservative on the compression though, flat tops instead of domed pistons. Same cam, 69 Z28 intake and a Holley. Small journal block. Oh and the heads are only 194 "fuelie" instead of the 2.02 the L79 had.

Couldn't find a 3/4 race cam for it anywhere.....................

I was going to comment that had to be one of the cleanest shops I've ever seen. I guess the bonus is you're probably never going to get hungry there or be far for a drink. Looks like an exciting time.

Trust me, the workshop is nowhere near that clean! I guess I have to clean it up a bit before I start.
