Looking good Carl, that was a good day.

Yes,it was fun. I was a bad boy! I ignored all my other chores and was selfish! I took a "car" day for myself...

I think it's important to do one of those every so often.

I was hoping you'd see this Joel. If it works for you like it does for me, seeing progress of others helps me stay focused on getting my own stuff done.

Except this one doesn't have a "post" in it Carl!

66 Strato Chief, approx 4,000 pounds,  427 cubic inches.

65 Acadian SD,  approx 3,000 pounds,  327 cubic inches.

Any wagers on what is quicker?   Will taking out 1,000 pounds make up for taking out 100 cubes?

I was referring to "any 2 door"   as far as "beat" is concerned  I think a 327 3000 will run with the Big Dogs    run with but not by  rofl.gif     and its 140 cubes wink

Wow !!! Looking good Carl,   Would be close for sure on lbs per cubes.  9.36 lbs per cube for the Strato Chief and 9.17 lbs per cube on your Acadian.  If you new lbs per HP might tell the tail.

Thanks Dave. I forgot to mention. Better set the record straight. Until I get the appropriate decals I will have to explain that is NOT a Chevy 327, nor a Canadian Pontiac 327, but an Acadian 327...

This winter I really got the itch to build a 65 Invader post car. I thought it would be so cool to make a stock appearing 300 horse 4 speed bare bones car, just the way it could have been ordered.

Likely just another car dream, but dreaming is fun...

Looks great carl.
Havent been on much so i am just looking at this post now.
Gotta love the 3-2-7 valve covers

P.S.  i have a set of 327 "super econoflame" magnetic decals if you want to try a set.
They are not on gold foil, but look pretty good.

Is the plan to be driving it this summer?

Thanks Vern.

Inching closer each day. Still no exhaust pipes. My brother is a busy guy and he gives me such great deals I can't push him!

Put in the battery, checked to make sure the starter etc is a go. Just a couple of clicks to make sure it will crank.

Changed my top hose cause I found a nicer fitting one. It turns out it's the lower hose from a mid 2000's Silverado! Fits like a dream!

Carl, I want your engine ... but to save time, just give me the whole car!
Excellent job ... just the way I would do it!
Do you have valve cover stickers yet? What will they say?

I didn't order them yet. I am going to get the "Acadian 327" for the top in the rectangle and the "300 horsepower" for the sides. If you look at the feature car 2 door post 66 L79 car from last year, same decals as that except of course his say "350 horsepower". I think that will be a nice finishing touch.
