Anyone have a 200-4R overdrive in a 62-67 Nova/Acadian?

I will be working on someone else's car in the next while that requires installing a 200-4R overdrive in a 63 Acadian. It's quite obvious the rear trans mount is quite a bit farther back than the stock trans in the Acadian. Anyone have experience with building or buying a crossmember for this swap?

I know of a '66 a block away that has a 200r4 in it. He is away for a couple weeks but when he gets home I can take a peek...if you don't get some better answers by then.

That would be great Chad if you could do that. Even if I get an answer I'd really like to see pics of any possibilities.

I found two different choices of crossmembers that are manufactured but they are expensive and as you are aware, this project is a bit of a budget machine.wink

That looks like one of the ones I saw listed. However, it was priced at $249 US so I was hoping for something a bit more affordable.

I was thinking a 350 or 400 cross member could be cut and modified

When you put a 350 in one of these cars you just notch the front of the crossmember slightly to clear the pan.

Putting a 400 in is not as pleasant!!!
