I'm curious to know what frame is under your car?

Fitz. one of the last posts tells the story, It's on a 84 Oldsmobile Cutlass frame that has been "shortened" then the owner before me cut the front wheel wells out of fenders & moved them forward to match the centre of wheels. If the frame was shortened any more the engine [V8 ] would be "into" the fire wall!!! Right now the engine sits in there like it came from the factory !!!!! All the Olds. wiring harness is up under the dash & tucked in behind left fender, I will get to that later, want to get body & floors done first. I guess the prevouis owner lost interest [that happens to a lot of "projects" ] but I'm determined to finish it as I think the torpedo back is a car you don't see very much here at the cruise in's & shows  Pete

Well gang, I finally feel well enough to get back at the 52 from having the flue & then a "bad" cold, as well as being in hospital for day surgery. I made up new floor panels to cover in body mounts where it sits on 84 chassis, then fitted in one of the  floor pans that that I got on "road trip" to Indiana. Slow process, but it's starting to look better. Plan is to start at the back & work my way forward!!!

To make up and replace sections of body panel is an art that is dying out. Great to see such work being done! There is a local person that can still do lead wiping!

I've got the right side done now & across the back behind the seat to the new trunk floor. Wife has the camera at Grandson'd today, will take pictures ASAP. Hit with another cold before the 1st. had entirely left!!! DAM  Picked up 24' of 1" sq. tubing to make up a sub structure to hold up the the new floors. I will start building this as soon as I feel well enough to get back out there!!!  Pictures too follow.

biggrinGot brave today & cut out the left front floor & trial fitted the new pan. As usual, with after market parts, had to do some "trimmin" but so far it's fitting not too bad. Can't weld any of them in yet till I get rocker panels on to line everything up!!!

Went to the other shop to take photo's of 1/4 panel work, but all locked up, on service call. Will try later this week to get them. I't's coming but slow, alot of fabrication involved in floor braces & metal work in between the new panels. I did find out the last time I was down there why the back brakes were not hooked up. Previous owner said there was a problem with the porportioning valve [so he was told by guy he got it from] When I took off the back left wheel to get up to the wheel well repairs, [ready ? ] no drum, no shoes, just the backing plate & whl. cyl. & axle!!! "said HMM, I thinks I found out why theys not hooked up" although it was easy for "BURN OUTS" on the foot brake!!!  Get the pics posted as soon as possible!!!

Here's where I'm at so far. The inner whl. house has been done, all the left side floor braces have been "fabbed" & welded in, floor is welded & 1/4 patch panels & "fabbed" pieces installed. This sure took the friendlyness out of this side, as it wanted to wave at you as you went by, 1/4 just-a-flappin in the breeze!!  Solid as a rock & door fitting is spot on!!! Now for the other side, it should go quicker as I know has has to be fabricated & how to do it!!!
