I went with the Thrush welded mufflers and 2 1/2" aluminized pipe with a crossover. The Thrush mufflers are said to be a Chinese knock off of the Flowmaster 40's at 1/4 the price. Total cost for a very nice tight custom bent system was $650.

I can say that for anyone wanting an agressive tone...without the drone, on a big car with full tailpipes, these cheapos work very well, time will tell if they hold up.

Of all the things I've done to the car so far, this pipe job has given the biggest performance and attitude improvement.

i had red thrush cherry bombs ($25ish) on my 283 4brl, parisienne for years

they were cheap, only loud if u got into it, but  it was certainly a case

of the bark being worse then its bite, that car was smooth as silk  but

couldnt get out of its own way,  bonus, the mufflers came with the woody wood

pecker stickers that made cars go faster, or so i thought in my youth!

Hey Mark, I just put the same on my wife's 65 ragtop, she wanted glass packs but the guy's at the shop talked me into these, sounds awesome, and can't beat the price wink  Oh yeah and she loves it too.

I agree, i have 3" all the way to those polished thrush fully welded two chambers with turndowns and it sounds pure evil....i get compliments all the time, might be a little loud for some but at 3g's on the highway it's not bad at all....

3 inch with TURN DOWNS!   You must be American   only place you see trundowns(USA)  Here in Canada we must have full tailpipes for safety certification

Safety Certification? I sign my own dot slips......lol...makes life simple....and turndowns at a 45 toward the tire so it's not driving everyone nuts with dust at a cruise.....still does anyways but i tried....
