Hey guys, I thought I'd sign up and introduce myself here. A friend just told me about this site a couple of days ago. I'm Ken from northern Vancouver Island. My current car is a base model 75 Firebird (built in Norwood Ohio) I've been playing with for somewhere in the area of 10 years now. (can't remember for sure if I bought it in 01 or 02, lol) When I got the car it was pretty much original and in need of pretty much everything. It had a 350 2 barrel Pontiac engine with a TH350. It looked ok, and ran good, so I just drove it for the first year. I started by replacing the little 350 with a 455, and went from there. for the last 5 years I've been redoing the body and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get it finished, lol. Hopefully I'l figure out how to post some pics fairly soon. Well, I guess that's it for now. I'm looking forward to getting famiiar with the site.

Thanks guys. I just read the sticky on posting pics and now I'm gonna try my luck, lol. If this worked, the one in my driveway is from when I first bought the car and the other on is from the drag races in Port Alberni aroun 04 or 05.

Thanks Rick, never got a chance to try and do anything with that engine yet. Hopefully this year. We'll be seeing each other again too, lol. It would have been this weekend as Daryle asked me if I wanted to go to Qualicum, I'm just still a bit too broke from Christmas to do it this time.

Haha, it was an old pic. We used to habve 4 birds back then, we're down to just the one now. Now, I'm feeling like I must know you from off the site since you guessed my town.

ya seen you around here at the car shows,plus I have driven by your house near the dalewood,lived in that town from 75-83 that town was full of t/as and z28 in the old days,there should still be a 69 dart 440 gts still hiding up there,im sure ever one of those ta and z cars got totalled up there! too bad you arent gonna make it down this weekend timbuk

ok, that kind of splains it. There aren't many old Ponchos of any kind left up here anymore. (I believe I may have the only Pontiac powered car left up here - guess I'm a dying breed, lol) The 440 dart was in Hardy wasn't it? I haven't even heard anything about that car in a few years. The car show you would have seen me at was the Graffitti Bash, I was a Cruiser till about a year after I took the bird off the road, I'll likely join up again after the car's insured again.

still got alot of buddies up there i kinda miss gravel road bashing,KINDA.440 dart is brown and owned by a town councillorbiggrin.gif. He actually had a shop there called uptown performance many years ago where the body shop is now.I heard he still has the car sittin in a shop somewhere,so that means he has owned the car 30 years.Way back we used to race out at kilpala straitstrech,just south of PM.Had lines on the road and the whole bit.Betcha its raining there as we speak!

Ri-ight, that car sounds familiar now. Yeah, I heard about the racing up here back then, but unfortunately not till I moved back to the coast and up here about 15 years ago. Too bad in a way, back then I was working in Juene Landing (76-78) then Mahatta till 85. Had a 71 GTX back then, it was a Hemi orange 440 car. The thing ran pretty hard, lol. It would have been nice to run against some of the stuff that was up here then, other than rat racing.

THERE WAS ALOTM OF TRUE MUSCLE CARS THEN ONE I REMEMBER A 70 SS CLEVELLE 454 went up against that 440 gts i think the doodge won lots of bucks then hows the logggin are you guys workin? hope so

Thanks again guys. Yup, we're loggin agin, Tim. We were off to a bit of a bumpy start tho. We were supposed to start up on the 10th, but got shut down the rest of the week for weather. It's been steady since tho.
