M 13 Heavy Duty three speed transmissions (Later called MC1)

Anybody out there with a full sized Canadian Poncho or Chevy with one?

The M 13 was produced 65-68 and the MC1 69-72.

These HD 3 speeds were the base transmissions on big block high performance applications.

I know 68sd has some Chevelles and Beaumonts in his listings with them, but no full sized.

So, anybody out there with a M 13 or MC1, here is your chance for 15 minutes of fame!  smile

For those who do not know the M13 is the Borg-warner trans and the MC-1 is the Muncie trans.

I have one that came out of a 66 Chevelle sedan , looked like a truck trans to me. I'll dig it up and check the dates on it.

This may be off topic as I'm talking about a Chevelle not a full size but this is odd don't ya think?  Looks factory with the shifters on it and it weighs as much as a 60's saginaw( I have a couple of mid 70's sags and there is a noticable difference in weight) What do ya think ?...factory option or did someone put it in there.

My guess is that is an original. To me it looks like the 3 speed Sag that is basically the same as the Sag 4 speed, right down to the case and mainshaft being the same.

Cheviac, you have a three speed Saginaw, build date Oct. 7th 1965. The Maincase casting # should be 3858986 and the extension housing # should be 3881854.
