I'll keep it in mind if the ones on the engine are bad. Picked up the intake today, and got it for $80. It's an Edelbrock Performer 2101 and it looks pretty good. Just needs a bit of a cleaning in a parts washer and it will be ready to go. I'll head off to Walkers Auto Parts this Friday morning to see about a cam...they are having a moving sale so hopefully I can get a good deal on a cam kit....
OK I'm with Carl on this one. Your 327 needs Camel Humps and stock 4bbl intake carb and air cleaner. Accessory bolt hole heads look like crap on anything built before 1972 or so. Let all of the newbies use that lightweight Vortec garbage on their 98 Chevy trucks.

Moveing sale !! They just moved there not to long ago. Do you know were they are moving to ?
Nope, but I'll find out when I go on friday..I have a buddy that works there part time...
Oh and I broke down and bought the L79 cam and lifters..they shipped today...so next will be the gasket set, bearings, timing set, cam button and of course the machining..which may lead to new pistons...
i dont know what your buget is but i went to forged flat top wiesco two eyebrow with a steel shim head gasket and i upgraded to scat rods with full floating pins, with the original heads i would do a mild porting you can do that yourself just to clean up the flow balance everthing out. last step is to get it balanced i didnt and you do notice the harmonics
The brand is Speed Pro and I got it through Northern Auto Parts in Edmonton. Says it is a direct replacement cam for the L79 GM # 3863151 and includes lifters.
65 Wagon, I'm on a pretty tight budget..think Scottish when I say tight...LoL! I will get it properly machined..and won't cut corners but I will look for sales and the like when I buy parts...
well then we think alike, if you need help dont be afraid to ask. if you are in edmonton i can give you the name of a shop the actually listens if you dont mind doing some work on your own
Speed Pro CS179R is what mine is. I am pretty sure that is what you have. Did I get you a link to the video so you can hear what it will sound like? I think I promised you I would.
