torque converter issues??

 wondering if this is the reason for the stall out when i put the car in gear.?? it`s a powerglide trans, when the 62 acadian is in park or neutral it`s fine, put the car in drive or reverse it stalls out!!! could it be a bad torque converter?? o`yes the idle is not set to lowwink

If you feather the throttle are you able to keep it running?

Just trying to figure out if it's a carb problem.

Any difference whether it's cold or warm engine?

Does it have Power Brakes? And if so maybe a vacume leak at the booster. Is your foot is on the brake when it stalls?
