I am at the point where I want to install a new wiring harness from one of the major makers {which one ??}. So, I have a couple of questions...... First, as this is a Parisienne conv. will the new 64 Impala harness - I presume that will be the right one to order- (from the usa) plug into the dash connection on the Pontiac. I don't think the yankee harness for a Bonneyville will do the job for this car. Second, are there other things I should know before I order a harness. Third, would I be better off just reusing the old harness although it is pretty "tired" as I don't wish to re-wire the dash to match whatever connecter the company sends for an Impala if that is the right one to order. Thanks
I am thinking there will not be a proper repro harness made for your car. The Impala harness won't be right, the Bonneville won't be right and I'm sure one won't simply plug right in to the other at the firewall. However, I am guessing if you have patience and some basic wiring skills you could likely make the Impala harness work. I assume you are talking about doing only the underhood portion of the wiring, not the whole car? If so, there will be a number of things on it that would be quite a bit different on a Bonneville.

Well, I was looking for a complete re-wire. The parisienne and impala are close in many respects so I think the engine harness will be identical. My main worry is the connector on the engine harness mating with the dash harness without all the hassle of figuring out which wire goes where. I have done that on other cars and want to avoid that if at all possible. I think I can salvage the harness to the rear for tail lights and top control.
