Philip, Philip says he is pretty sure that clip is used on one of the valves in the valve body, and the clip sits up against a spring (which makes sense because in your picture it looks like the outline of the end of a spring on the clip)

He said if the trans works fine he'd put the clip in his tool box and keep driving it.

 This international timeline thingy is confusing you.....usually at night before bed, then some maybe over breakfast as all you guys have been posting while I snooze...then some at lunch.....usually 7-8 hrs sleep....hmmmmm...maybe I need to cut back.....canada (Quebec anyways) about 14 hrs behind me depending where you are....
