Temp sender challenge, trouble finding equivelent in australia

OK, pushing on nicely with my engine. EFI all set up just lacking a temperature sensor. No parts stores in my area can even find  the part number let alone an equivelent. As can be seen in the parts list it is a GM part number. Apparently based on big block chev, suspect used on factory system as was designed to itilise factory sensors. Anyone know a later model equivelent or sensor operating range/specs so I can assist the parts person? Could be chev, buick V6 etc....

If you need the "25036979" coolant sensor the Part Number has changed up twice to 15326386 and that is readily available at any GM dealership.

If the GM numbers don't help you Philip, let me know and I can find some jobber part numbers for it. I wonder if you have any North American brand parts in your jobber stores there?

Thanks for your help everyone. Have sourced a couple from international ebay Using the new part number. I had a couple of local places getting all huffy with me because i could not give a precise year and model engine and car. Wankers.....
