Pcv

Does anyone know the napa part number to order the pcv that screwed into the oil fill tube? Came on 66 67 impala Possible others May have been California only? I have found a screw in for the carb base but I want the one that screws into the special oil fill tube with the bung meant for a pcv. Classic industries has them But I like to support my local guy when I can Thanks Greg

6422721 and CV726C is the GM number and the AC Delco number if that helps. NAPA should be able to cross over that number I would hope.

Carl those part #s yield a pcv with a barbed hose fitting on each end. I'm looking for the pcv that has a male thread on one end. I'm told there is such a piece Did your part book have a picture?

Somehow I think the crossover must be messed up. That part number is actually for a 66 L79 Nova which has the filler tube with a screw in PCV. I don't have a US parts book at work but I know you are right in saying the US cars had it later on. I can look tonight in my US parts book at home.

If you google CV726C and click on images, it shows the thread in valve. I will see if I can find a jobber number for it either here at work or tonight at home.

V100 from Standard Motor Products sure looks right but I don't have time at work right now to try to confirm that.

You know what? Now that I look at this, I think that V100 is backwards. It appears the threaded side is the vacuum side on that one according to the arrow.

On the one in the oil fill tube, the hose side needs to be the vacuum side.

I was just in the US parts book and found CV736C AC or 6423695 GM. I'll have to see if I can find info on that one.

As far as I know, there is no PCV valve, just a metered orifice. Although looking at the diagram from the shop manual, on the standard PCV system, they do call it a vent valve, whatever that is. Ecklers sells what looks a lot like the standard system:

Well, it looks like 6422721 CV726C is the only number for the PCV valve that threads into the oil filler tube on 68 and older Chevy.

I'm betting he has valve covers with no pcv hole. I've debated doing this a couple of times on an engine as well as suggested this to a guy just recently who had the same dilemma, no place for the pcv valve.

I know of a tube with valve in a wrecking yard, think I may grab it next visit there.

What am I up to? Just as Carl suggested I'm trying to use some old Chevy valve covers on a smallblock This elusive part is ONE path I'm thinking of to get the pcv looked after in a clean neat fashion. After doing a LOT of searching I think I finally have a good plan While we're talking engines here has anyone have experience with offset ground 3.75 crank using sbc 2.0 5.7 rods?? Bored .040 over 393ci maybe?? Torque engine for heavy cruiser with a powerful glide? Am I on the right track?

427carl That looks like it's for the hole where your draft tube was ??? Not sure But I have a newer block So I don't think that will work Without machining. Thanks for the lead though!

What if you would still use that filler tube with the bung in it but use the threaded pcv valve that threads into the carb base ( sucks the opposite direction compared to the one that goes in the tube). You could thread a fitting into the tube with a hose barb on it.

That would work Even easier is the pcv that is meant for my car It has a hose barb on both ends Already and there cheap! Lol! That is one of my other plans Use the oil fill tube with vented cap Then drill hole near distributer hole in intake and route the inline pcv from the new hole to The carb Will need a plate on the underside of the intake to keep from sucking straight oil A baffle
