I am looking for rear view mirrors to mount on the doors. Have the original round on the left, need one for the other side, found another left one ,it turns in enough but seems to low can not see it over bottom of vent window, I see an oem right one on ebay at $175.00 a ittle tooooo rich for me. A mached pair would be nice  thanks  Laurie

Personally....I've found that a right side mirror is not really needed on x frame cars.....and they look MUCH cleaner without.

The blind spot is really minimal.....and nothing better than a shoulder check,anyways...

image.jpegI recently picked up a left hand mirror from Walker Auto Parts in Winnipeg. I had to get one with the bow tie emblem to match the right side. He ( Reg.) can get the ones without the bow ties but the bases are just a little different and we were concerned that if the paint was marked, the non- bow tie base wouldn't cover it. I believe the mirror was around $70 Cdn.

Laurie , these mirrors were on my car when I purchased it. The left one got loose and wouldn't stay adjusted and I had to replace it. They are positioned really well. I wish I could have got the ones without the bow tie, They are almost identical except for the base being a little more squared off rather than pointed like mine. Reg. at Walker Auto actually keeps a pretty good stock of mirrors and is pretty knowledgeable re: their applications. He had this one in stock. Give me a heads up if you are ever out this way again and we could meet for coffee. I saw your car at the swap meet last weekend and swung by it a couple of times but couldn't meet up with you. I'm sure we'll meet up somewhere this summer.

Some of the earlier years of chevy had much the same mirror without the bowtie. Some have a base that screws to the door, then the mirror screws to the base, others have the screws that go directly through the mirror into the base.

Here's one for a 58, but check out other years.

Thanks guys for the info. Re: the last one, tape is too obvious, I was thinking body filler and a rattle can of chrome paint.

Jim you don't need the filler or spray chrome, just remember the Pontiac will always be ahead of the pack Laurie
