Installing stainless windshield trim to hold down the top piece

For my 62 I need to install the top windshield stainless trim. It is a slightly curved piece so it is under stress to stay in position. What adhesive should i use to install the top piece and so the side window trim holds it down. The side pieces have one screw at the bottom. So it needs adhesive to hold itself and the top trim piece in place. 

Any suggestions

Do you have this piece off? Or just trying to make it tight because it is loose?

There should be some trim clips holding the stainless in place, from factory the "adhesive" was a soft product we now call dum dum, it really held things tighter and also prevented leaks, as opposed to being an adhesive.

This piece was off and i have a couple clips kicking around. The trim piece did have some black putty like material on it which was soft. I imagine with the clips i have to remove the window? Was hoping for a quick semi permanent fix as i just need the car for one weekend, ( wedding car) was trying to make it close to finished as possible.

The clips fit on the windshield track when the windshield is out. You might try a good glass shop to get them to glue it back on with something that will hold it until you decide to change out your glass rubber, if you ever need to do that. I can't remember the name of the good stuff to use if you want to do it yourself, but a glass place may sell you some or just google glass installation or check youtube. The right stuff will definitely hold the trim on.
