The long BB pump fits in the 67 B body no problem. With all the talk of the lack of clearance and the need for e-fans, I really wondered.
Was the rad support even in the right spot? No idea, but I knew I wanted nothing the to do with the short pump, as it seems to not be really supported as far as aftermarket with a good pulley system. Plus I wanted to have the alt on the passenger side a-la HO 12SI. Plus the short pump is ugly...sorry did I say that?
Note to all. Keep any and all 69 350 rad shrouds you have or come across. They can be adjusted, bracketed, trimmed and what not to fit just about any engine configuration in a B. 67 for sure, but probably 65-70. It is the best shroud you can have for an engine swap imop. With a small trim all the way round engine side, I can use it on my long water pump BB conversion.
Same Champion rad as with my HO350. Just removed the rad to support spacer that I added when I installed the HO. It is pretty much plug and play with the SB to BB when it comes to cooling...of course...as long as you have a cheap multi mount aluminum rad (which you probably should really consider).
I'm using the same type of March powder coat, silver ribbed serpentine system that I had on the HO, it's absolutely the cheapest system available, and if you don't have air, it's all you should need with a long pump.
I'm really, really surprised at all of this. Even the SB hoses fit with a small trim...they are just shorter with the BB. Hell, even the trans cooing lines configure exactly the same.
At this point I love GM. But who even does this old school conversion anymore anyway lol!
