Hi folks, Has anyone ever upgraded a divorced choke to an electric version on a 68 Qjet 7028210EE? I freshened up my 396, and with the rebuild, bolted on an Edelbrock intake with the original Qjet. I used my original divorced choke off the GM intake with a new rod that Edelbrock recommended, but it just wasn't working right.
I can purchase an Edelbrock part #1935 divorced choke that are readily available specifically for the Performer intake Qjet combination but I was also considering an electric upgrade. However, I find conflicting info for an electric upgrade for the 68 carb. I find info that says 68's can't be upgraded to electric, then other part suppliers list an electric for 68 big blocks. The Edelbrock 1935 divorced choke seems to be the easiest route but just wondering if anyone has ever converted a 68 Qjet divorced to electric, or should that be avoided?
hey I have had the same problem on my 400 , ive made new rods from coat hangers to adjust the length , the divorced choke works fine once you set it up
